To most people, Jasper always seemed well put together, regardless of how jumpy he tended to be. One would usually presume he would be far more frantic, scrambling to get ready with how much he seemed to have going on but to everyone's shock, he'd always be on time. The first one there in quite a few situations. What on earth was his secret?

As the dripping water from the faucet rapidly slowed until it hovered in place and the falling books paused in mid air, it was fairly obvious how Jasper was managing it. The ability to stop time. The papers Jasper had been working on miraculously weren't kicked and sent flying as Jasper bolted from where he sat to save the tumbling books. Jasper looked around his office to make sure nothing else was about to be horrifically out of place. No more stray books.. Papers should probably be in a neater pile before he knocked those about.. Perfect, all back to normal.

The sound of dripping water signified the return of time as Jasper slumped back down, planting his head against his desk. Taking a deep breath, Jasper's momentary respite was interrupted by two separate notifications. One on his phone to remind him of prior commitments with friends, of which he needed to get ready for, and the second being an email.

Jasper clicked into the email first. He had been an editor for some time for one of those online news companies. He had never missed a deadline for.. obvious reasons, so he tended to be the go to guy to fix something or write a quick filler article when someone else wasn't available. Reading on, Jasper audibly groaned. Someone couldn't finish their article and it was being pushed on him. Worse yet, the deadline was two hours away. Way to be cutting it close.

Jasper probably could've done it without even needing to stop time but with how much he had already been procrastinating today and needing to be out the door in an hour, it seemed quite obvious that he'd need to bend some rules just a bit.

Feeling a notable headache coming on, Jasper stood up and checked out the window, looking out at the sunny street. Everything in sight was motionless. He could get started on his work.

Picking his laptop up from the floor, Jasper fell back into his armchair with an air of defeat to him. With how long he spent writing in a stressed frenzy, he had previously splurged in a nice chair to make it at least somewhat bearable.

Jasper thankfully kept the email open so he didn't have to unpause and pause time again just to open the attached links. He leaned back and got to work. Let's see here... an article about the "DAWG" situation. For roughly three days, countless jammyx had turned into small feral creatures. Some people who were interviewed noted seeing an odd jammyx around shortly before the ailment took over Nuclitis. Jasper thankfully managed to not be effected, but hadn't seen the jammyx people mentioned. He'd note it as unofficial accounts from eyewitnesses.

Once he finished, Jasper allowed time to resume, and submitted the article, alongside the one or two he had been asked to give slight edits to. Slinking further into his chair, Jasper started to relax. It had been roughly twenty or thirty minutes before another alarm went off.

RIGHT. His plans with friends. Hopping back up, Jasper froze time for the third time. Stumbling a bit from how dizzy he was getting, Jasper braced himself against the doorframe. He had let it slip from his mind that he needed to take at least an hour long break before trying to use his power again or else he'd continue to experience drawbacks from overusing it.

He'd take a break once he got there. Scrambling up to his room, Jasper rummaged through his closet and drawers, looking for something to wear. Jasper's wardrobe typically consisted of patterned shirts of which he wore just about every day, meaning the only real thing he needed to figure out was what design he wanted. Picking a shirt that made him quite frankly look like an old arcade carpet from the 90s, Jasper managed to quickly finish getting ready.

Double and then triple checking he hadn't missed anything, Jasper was ready to leave. Pausing at the bus stop, Jasper needed to make a choice. Wait for and take the bus, or keep time paused and walk? The trip would only be fifteen minutes but with the remaining walking time he'd be cutting it insanely close. If he wanted to make sure he'd be the first there, he'd have to walk. He didn't want to draw attention to himself and risk someone showing enough concern on the bus to get him checked for his headache. Sighing, he made up his mind. A walk it was.

Jasper stretched as he planned out the route to his meeting place. It was... the mall on the other side of town. It was far more convenient for his friends than it was for him, but he insisted that he would make it on time. He could cut through the park at least. That would save some 'time'. Crossing the street, Jasper slipped through the half open gate. Passing through the park when it was frozen in time was always an odd sensation. People were in the way, causing Jasper to have to actively go out of his way to get back on the path. After tilting his head to avoid a stray frisbee that wouldn't have actually been able to hit him, Jasper continued through the park.

Once he arrived, time unfroze on cue. With time to relax, Jasper sat down and texted his friends, letting them know he was already there. Maybe once he finished up with his friends he'd just take the bus back. He could afford to take some time, right? He had all the time in the world.
