Strider

the STRIDER is a relatively tall insectish mammallian creature native to Novaedus' marshes/wetlands/swamps

STRIDERs most recgonisable features are its mouth and its legs.
STRIDERs mouth is a long appendage which are covered in thin hairlike ''appendages'' increasing around the tip. these ''appendages'' are used to pull edible materials towards the opening in bottom middle, covered in small somewhat sharp cylindarical pattern used to pull its food towards the digestive track.
STRIDERs legs start in a thick, bulky ''thigh'', which adruptly stops near the ''knee''. from ''knee'' down is a single highly flexible doublejointed stilt like appendage that acts as the legitamete leg. 
a STRIDERs leg is notoriously difficult to break

the ROAMER, otherwise known as ''DWARF STRIDER'',  is the domestic variant of STRIDER. while near fully identical anatomically, ROAMERs are smaller and possess different patterns

while techincally being suitable as a pet, ROAMERs are more popularlly used for longrange cargo, or cargo going through any form of adverse enviorment
